Warrior Book Description

Life, for Richard Morris, was about to take an impossible turn. As a veteran of Vietnam, a Marine Corpsman, he found a job as a paramedic and proceeded to learn about a variety of subjects. Engineering, languages, history; he had an insatiable curiosity about the world at large. He studied various forms of martial arts as well. His innate reflexes were unusually fast, which were a constant source of entertainment for his co-workers, who would test them often. He was adept at saving lives. He was adept at taking them. He could compose sonnets in different languages. He wasn't afraid of hard work. He could do many things very, very well, that others couldn't. He had a good, if unassuming, life.

Still, he felt a restlessness. There was something missing. Some spark, some interest, some purpose he wasn't fulfilling. That restlessness drove him to do more, learn more, try new things. He didn't know what it was, but he knew his life wasn't turning out quite the way he had expected. He just wasn't sure what he had expected in the first place. So he kept looking, feeling ill at ease, as if he didn't quite belong where he was.

Unfortunately, Rick didn't expect to be zapped into another reality as he stood out in front of Fire Station Five watching an unusual storm. He didn't expect to meet a beautiful young woman, who wasn't entirely human. He didn't expect to be cast in the role of a prophesied savior of the world. He was sure he was the wrong person for the job.

But when you are a Soldier, a Serf, a Poet, a Physician and a Magician, all rolled into one person, odd things tend to happen to you when those exact qualities are urgently needed by a desperate world. Even if that desperate world is located ninety degrees away from the reality in which you used to live.

Rick's life was about to become a lot more complicated, and dangerous, than he could have ever imagined when he discovers that he's been called to that place to rescue the living embodiment of Mother Nature Herself.
